I am board certified in General Psychiatry having completed 3 years of training at Mount Sinai Medical Center and the Bronx Veterans Affairs Medical Center where I was elected chief resident In my final year. I completed one year of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, NY State Psychiatric Institute and Creedmore Psychiatric Center. I then started working at the Northport VA Medical Center where I enjoyed 15 years taking care of our very brave veterans and working with a devoted and talented clinical staff. I then took 2 years off to provide medical care to a very ill family member. Recently, I was working at the Riverhead (Suffolk County) Jail providing mental health services to adults and older teenagers. I greatly enjoyed my position but I was recruited by New York State Office of Mental Health for an opportunity in Brooklyn where I served as the Unit Chief responsible for the care of 24 adult male patients, many of whom were forensic patients. I greatly enjoy my work and believe that it is a great privilege being permitted to help people achieve an improved quality of life so that they truly enjoy a limited amount of time on this beautiful planet.
