About Me

My focus:
Anxiety, Depression, Dysthymia, Mood Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, Autism, ADHD, Eating Disorders, PTSD, Difficulty with Life Transitions for Young Adults, LGBTQ Concerns, Self-Esteem, Insomnia

I am board-certified as both a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and an Adult Psychiatrist. After completing medical school, I attended a 5-year combined residency training program in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. As a resident physician, I had extensive training of 20,000+ direct patient care hours.  Since completing residency training in 2008, I have worked in a variety of practice settings including an urban Healthcare for the Homeless Clinic, a rural Federally Qualified Community Health Center, a Community Mental Health Center, Residential Treatment Programs, School-Based Psychiatric Consultations, at a College Counseling Center, and in my private practice.

My private practice is small, with the goal of providing meaningful, compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care to my patients. I am available for psychiatric evaluation and consultation; initiating psychiatric treatment including pharmacotherapy; on-going medication monitoring and
management; psychotherapy; collaborative psychiatric care (if a patient already has a therapist), clinical supervision, and facilitation of online groups.

All patients meet with me via telepsychiatry for an initial consultation/evaluation to ensure that my practice is a good fit for your needs. Once established, we then work together towards addressing your symptoms and/or concerns so that you can make meaningful change(s) and achieve your goals.

Please note that I do not prescribe any controlled substances through telepsychiatry.

A board-certified psychiatrist (general Adult, or specialty such Child & Adolescent) has completed residency training at an accredited residency training program and then passes an extensive examination process to be designated as board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). In addition, maintenance of certificate requires ongoing medical education and compliance with the governing board’s knowledge and testing standards.
