A graduate of the University of Alexandria Medical School in Egypt, I did general surgery internship  at the North Shore University Hospital in New York, and family practice residency with the Latrobe Area Hospital in Pennsylvania.

I served as medical director of the Hospitalist Program at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Clairton, PA.
