A highly trained psychiatrist, Dr. Hovav has a deep knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social components of mental illness. She has led clinical research, has published in peer-reviewed medical journals, and is a stalwart advocate for patients.
Dr. Hovav graduated with Honors from Ross University School of Medicine, went on to complete her internship in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center, completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Brain Stimulation and Neuroimaging in Mental Illness at UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience, and graduated from Psychiatry residency at Creighton University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) – the organization that identifies and highest level of certification for Physician Psychiatrists, and has earned Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA). She received the prestigious William Sorum Award from the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Hovav was previously the Medical Director of Behavioral Medicine at Fremont Health Medical Center, and was also the Psychiatrist for the Department of Health and Human Services at Norfolk Regional Center in Nebraska. She loves being in private practice at Lifetime Insight to be able to give individualized attention to each one of her patients. Currently, Dr. Hovav provides Telemedicine services to patients who reside in California, Nebraska, Nevada, Iowa, Kansas, and Florida.
