Dr. Trevor Smith earned his undergraduate degree from Hope College. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School before going on to complete his residency at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Smith enjoys podcasts, traveling, and volunteering for medical mission trips. His professional passion for in person appointments is performing custom cataract surgery for patients that can benefit from this life-changing procedure. Within telemedicine, Dr. Smith works with partners across industries to develop the next generation of tools based on healthcare data with Verana Health.
Recently, a family member of Dr. Smith’s has vision loss in one eye. He diagnosed this patient with a likely retinal detachment over the phone and directed them to a top tier retinal surgeon in the area. Knowing how important a thoughtful diagnosis is, Dr. Smith is now available to consult with patients across the country to advocate for their care or to provide review of medical documentation to advocate for patients and help them obtain the most accurate diagnosis and the best care possible.
